All Australian shows have ample amount of seating around the site. Patrons are not permitted to bring their own seating, including low chairs and/or milk crates into the festival. Some stages are indoors, some are outdoors. The festivals all contain a mix of indoor and outdoor spaces.

Public transport is the quickest and easiest way to get to and from the venue.

TRAINS

Best metro train stations are Bowen Hills and Fortitude Valley.
Trains run all throughout the day and evening, with the last trains leaving 3:45am

PUBLIC TRANSPORT

With Sydney Showground in short walking distance of Olympic Park train station, the easiest way to get to and from the festival is by public transport.

TRAINS: GETTING THERE AND BACK

The closest station to Sydney Showground is Olympic Park.


GETTING THERE


From the city: Express trains will run every 15 to 30 minutes from Central between 12:30pm and 10:30pm, making stops at Redfern, Strathfield then Olympic Park.

Blue Mountains Line: Services will make an additional stop at Lidcombe between 3pm and 7pm.


From Lidcombe: Shuttle train services between Lidcombe and Olympic Park will run every 10 minutes throughout the day until 1am.

GOING HOME


To Central: Express services will leave Olympic Park back to Central every 10 minutes from 11pm until 1am stopping at Strathfield and Redfern.


To Leppington: An additional service departs Lidcombe at 11:58pm stopping at Auburn, Granville then all stations to Leppington.
Central Coast & Newcastle Line: An additional service will depart Central at 12:47am stopping at all stations to Newcastle (except Wondabyne).


Blue Mountains Line: Services will make an additional stop at Lidcombe between 10pm and midnight.


Direct trains between Lidcombe and Olympic Park from Platform Zero will run every 10 minutes until 1am.

TRACKWORK

Trackwork is taking place from 02:00 Saturday 30 November until 02:00 Monday 2 December and may affect how you travel to and from the event:

City Circle: Buses replace all trains on the City Circle. T1 North Shore & Western, T9 Northern and T2 Inner West & Leppington Line trains continue to stop at Town Hall and Wynyard.


T1 Western Line: Richmond trains run between Richmond and Central.


T2 Inner West & Leppington Line: Buses replace the all stations Homebush trains between Ashfield and Central. Leppington trains run to a changed timetable between Leppington and Central, then continue to North Sydney.


T3 Bankstown Line: Trains start and end at Sydenham. Some trains run to a changed timetable.


T8 Airport & South Line: Revesby trains start and end at Central. Macarthur trains run between Macarthur and Central via Sydenham.


Central Coast & Newcastle Line: Buses replace trains between Gosford and Hornsby.

Metro Trains will provide a 10 minute express service going back and forth between Flinders Station and Showgrounds, stopping only at Southern Cross and North Melbourne from 11:25 to 16:00.
Any passengers wishing to travel to the Showgrounds after the last service are to be directed to catch tram 57 from Elizabeth St or alternatively from Newmarket railway station.

Metro Trains will provide a 20 minute service from Showgrounds and stopping only at North Melbourne, Southern Cross and Flinders Street. First service to depart Showgrounds at 20:00 until 22:00.
Metro Trains will provide a 5 minute express service from Showgrounds and stopping only at North Melbourne, Southern Cross and Flinders Street from 22:00 – 23:30. The last service to depart Showgrounds will be at approximately 23:30.
Any passengers wishing to travel to the city before the first return service are to be directed to catch tram 57 from Epsom Road

TRAMS

Festival X contains the space and general infrastructure necessary to host the Festival X  event for a vast range of demographics. Upon presentation of a Companion Card at a Ticketmaster outlet, ticket purchasers are entitled to an additional ticket for their respective carer.
The Companion Card must be presented alongside the issued ticket to gain entry to the event.
Dedicated entry lanes will be available to those in possession of a Disability Card or Companion Card.

HOW DO I GET IN TO THE EVENT / WHAT I.D DO I NEED?

Your tickets and valid photo ID are required.

All patrons entering the venue must be over the age of 18, entry to the event is at own risk.

Valid Photo ID is required for entry (VALID Passport, VALID Australian Driver's License or State specific proof of age card, Driver License APP in NSW and VIC is OK). Attendees from overseas must bring their valid passport to gain entry. Overseas Drivers License, Student University and/or Public Transport cards will not be accepted.

On request security have the right to ask you to legitimise yourself with further ID requests.

ID requirements accepted at the event are outlined above. If you do not have any of these forms of ID whether it's because they are lost, damaged, stolen or waiting for them to arrive from the point of issue, we can not guarantee entry to the event. ID requirements are a matter for licensing and not at the discretion of the promoter

Bag searches will be conducted upon entry. Once cleared, patrons will have their tickets scanned and are cleared to enter the event.

HOW DO I GET IN TO THE EVENT / WHAT I.D DO I NEED?

Your tickets and valid photo ID are required.

All patrons entering the venue must be over the age of 18, entry to the event is at own risk.

Valid Photo ID is required for entry (VALID Passport, VALID Australian Driver's License or State specific proof of age card, Driver License APP in NSW and VIC is OK). Attendees from overseas must bring their valid passport to gain entry. Overseas Drivers License, Student University and/or Public Transport cards will not be accepted.

On request security have the right to ask you to legitimise yourself with further ID requests.

ID requirements accepted at the event are outlined above. If you do not have any of these forms of ID whether it's because they are lost, damaged, stolen or waiting for them to arrive from the point of issue, we can not guarantee entry to the event. ID requirements are a matter for licensing and not at the discretion of the promoter

Bag searches will be conducted upon entry. Once cleared, patrons will have their tickets scanned and are cleared to enter the event.

Heavy traffic is expected on roads approaching Sydney Olympic Park including the M4, Parramatta Road, Homebush Bay Drive and Concord Road.

Sydney Olympic Park Authority may close some local roads to accommodate increased public transport services and ensure pedestrian safety during events. For road closure details, visit Sydney Olympic Park Authority and check out the interactive map.

Sydney Ferries services are very popular and may reach capacity, especially on weekends. Keep this in mind if you’re planning on catching an F3 Parramatta River service. Plan your trip ahead and allow plenty of extra travel time or consider the alternative public transport options available.

Sydney Showground is approximately 40 minutes walk (3.6km) from Sydney Olympic Park Wharf. There is a connecting 526 bus to the stadium.

Sydney Olympic Park will be busy on Saturday with multiple events at neighbouring Qudos Bank Arena and Visit Sydney Olympic Park Prebook to pre-book your parking ticket and guarantee yourself a space. Note: Pre-book parking is available until 23:59 the night before the event. If you haven’t booked, follow the variable message signs within Sydney Olympic Park to best available casual parking. Metro Trains will provide a 10 minute express service going back and forth between Flinders Station and Showgrounds, stopping only at Southern Cross and North Melbourne from 11:25 to 16:00.
Any passengers wishing to travel to the Showgrounds after the last service are to be directed to catch tram 57 from Elizabeth St or alternatively from Newmarket railway station.

Metro Trains will provide a 20 minute service from Showgrounds and stopping only at North Melbourne, Southern Cross and Flinders Street. First service to depart Showgrounds at 20:00 until 22:00.
Metro Trains will provide a 5 minute express service from Showgrounds and stopping only at North Melbourne, Southern Cross and Flinders Street from 22:00 – 23:30. The last service to depart Showgrounds will be at approximately 23:30.
Any passengers wishing to travel to the city before the first return service are to be directed to catch tram 57 from Epsom Road

TRAMS

Yarra Trams will be running 6 additional Trams running from Elizabeth / Flinders Street to Epsom Road from 11:00 to 23:30. For further details regarding train & tram timetables and stations please visit PTV

Festival X contains the space and general infrastructure necessary to host the Festival X  event for a vast range of demographics. Upon presentation of a Companion Card at a Ticketmaster outlet, ticket purchasers are entitled to an additional ticket for their respective carer.
The Companion Card must be presented alongside the issued ticket to gain entry to the event.
Dedicated entry lanes will be available to those in possession of a Disability Card or Companion Card.

Massive crowds are expected in each state on event days with multiple events occurring in the precinct on the same day, so it’s essential to plan your trip in advance and work out how you are going to get to and from the festival.

Will there be ATMs?

This event will be cashless, please make sure you bring your bank card, phone for Apple Pay or similar to purchase drinks, food and merch.  
There will be NO ATMS at this event.

Are there services for patrons with disability or access needs?

Festival X is committed to creating an inclusive experience for patrons with disability or access needs.

Event Accessibility features include:

  • Companion Cards accepted just have it handy when you book and enter the event
  • Wheelchair access making it easier to get around
  • Assistance at the festival entry from helping you with your ticket to bag searches, we are here to help!
  • Viewing platforms at the main stage so you’ll never miss a beat
  • A chill out zone to take some time out and recharge
  • Guide dog rest & spending area even our service dogs need some time to relax
  • Accessible bathroom facilities can be found across the festival
  • Dedicated accessible drop off/pick up zone making drop off and pick up easier
  • And stacks of helpful volunteers and Festival X staff

Can I upgrade my GA ticket to a VIP ticket?

If I bought a ticket to one city, can I change it to attend in a different city?

Ticketmaster has approval to switch customers between cities, for equal or greater value. So if you wish to change city, you will need to contact them directly. You can also upgrade your GA ticket to a VIP Xperience ticket. Please submit a request HERE

When will I receive my collectors ticket?

Collector Tickets will begin dispatch at least 1 month prior to the event date - around Monday 28 October.

Is the event outdoors or under cover?

Festival X will feature a combination of indoor and outdoor spaces/stages. Please check the weather report before attending and bring the appropriate gear. Ponchos are for sale through merchandise stands.

What time does entry for the event open and close?

Entry closes to all Festival X shows 1 hour before event end:

- Brisbane: Doors 2pm – 10pm : Entry closes 9pm

- Sydney : Doors 1pm – 11pm : Entry closes 10pm

- Melbourne : Doors 12pm – 10pm : Entry closes 9pm

How and when do my tickets arrive?

When purchasing from Ticketmaster, GA tickets are digital only and will therefore be sent to the mobile number provided at checkout. There is no need to update any email addresses and names do not need to be on the tickets.

Food and beverage stands are located throughout the event including gluten free, vegetarian and vegan options. For a complete food truck and vendor list it will be available on website.


Free water refill stations will be situated throughout the venue. Please refer to the Festival X maps for exact locations. All bottles will be opened by barstaff, No bottles allowed, there are water pouches available for purchase to refill. Refer to festival map for locations
